What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

As a Sr. Data Engineer, you’ll get to work with terabyte scale data from various sources

and build reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant data pipelines that ensure our stakeholders have access to certified curated data sets for their reporting needs.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • You will be tasked with solving a real-life business problem that requires processing/analysing TBs of data and handling variety of data sources
  • You will ensure that the work is organized as projects with clear deliverables and timelines
  • You will collaborate with other team members who would provide support and mentoring
  • You will proactively investigate, report, and where possible, address data quality issues
  • You will support the team with technical expertise and if needed hands-on execution
  • You will organize/delegate project tasks to other team members and be responsible for timely delivery

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Create and manage data pipelines for analytics and machine learning projects using SQL & Python scripts
  • Work with data stewards/data governance teams
  • Program manage data engineering project tracks
  • Translate business needs into a set of workable, specific requirements
  • Create visualization using tools like Tableau/PowerBI
  • Back-up all the source codes on a regular basis using tools like Gitlab, etc

The hiring manager for this role is Sashikumar Bethu, Supervisor – Business Insights who manages the Data and BI Analytics support team for Professional Services under CXS group.

Sashi has 13 years of experience in the Data and BI Analytics portfolio. He has strong technical and business background in Business Intelligence/Insights and reporting.

The PS Business Insights team consist of five team members focused primarily on professional services support (both Sales and Delivery) and maintain current tools, dashboards and provide technical support to business.
