- The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science for admission into the Masters Program and Recruitment by some Public Sector Companies. GATE 2022 is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and six other Indian Institutes of Technology at Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Chennai, Roorkee & Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India
GATE 2022 – The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has started the GATE 2022 registration from September 2 online at gate.iitkgp.ac.in. GATE 2022 application form last date without late fee is September 24. The exam conducting authority will conduct the GATE 2021 exam in online mode on February 5, 6, 12, and 13.
Before filling the application form, candidates have to check the GATE exam eligibility criteria 2022. This year, two new GATE 2022 papers – Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Geomatics Engineering are added making the total GATE subject papers to be 29. IIT Kharagpur has decreased the exam centres in various zones for GATE 2022 exam. Candidates willing for M.Tech admission, other PG courses or PSU recruitment through GATE may find their eligibility for GATE exam 2022.

GATE 2022 – What’s New
- This year, IIT Kharagpur has introduced two new papers for GATE 2022. The new paper introduced this year are Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Geomatics Engineering.
- The exam conducting authority has decreased GATE 2022 exam centres in some zones.
- A candidate appearing in one or two papers must fill only one application form. In case of multiple applications, only one will be accepted and remaining applications will be rejected without any refund for the paid fee.
- Direct recruitment to Group A level posts in Central government, i.e., Senior Field Officer (Tele), Senior Research Officer (Crypto) and Senior Research Officer (S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, is now being carried out on the basis of GATE score.
- Applicants appearing for more than one paper have to pay the GATE 2022 application fee separately for both papers.
- Separate score and ranking will be provided for candidates appearing for Geology and Geophysics (GG), Humanities and Social Sciences (XH) and Architecture and Planning (AR).
- CE, CS, EC, EE and ME papers will be conducted in multiple sessions. However, a candidate is allowed to appear in only ONE specified session
- Applicants must keep the GATE 2022 scorecard safely after the declaration of the result.
- Qualifying marks for EWS candidates is 90% as that of the General candidates.

IIT Kharagpur has released the GATE application form 2022 on September 2 (revised). GATE 2022 registration portal has been activated by IIT Kharagpur in online mode only. Candidates have to provide their personal, academic and other details while filling the GATE 2022 application form. GATE Syllabus 2022
IIT Kharagpur has released the syllabus for GATE 2022 in online mode. The GATE syllabus 2022 comprises subjects and topics that candidates will have to study to prepare for the exam. The GATE 2022 syllabus of each paper is different, thus, candidates will have to check according to the discipline that they select. Candidates may note that the General Aptitude section has to be prepared by all as it is compulsory for every GATE 2022 paper.
GATE Mock Test 2022
IIT Kharagpur shall release the mock test of GATE 2022 on the official website. Through the mock test of GATE, the candidates will get familiar with the GATE exam pattern 2022. It is a simulation of the real exam and will help candidates in preparing for the upcoming examination. Authorities release separate mock tests for all the papers conducted by them. GATE 2022 mock test will be 3 hours long and will consist of objective type questions.
GATE Question Papers
The authorities shall release GATE 2022 question paper online on the official after the exam is concluded. However, various coaching institutes will be releasing unofficial GATE question papers on the exam day itself. Candidates appearing for GATE 2022 should refer to the previous year question papers to understand the style of questions asked in the examination. GATE 2022 Admit Card
IIT Kharagpur shall release GATE admit card 2022 online on the official website. Candidates who register for GATE 2022 exam before last date will be issued admit cards by the authorities. Candidates appearing for the exam will have to carry the GATE admit card 2022 along with a valid photo ID for identification purposes.

GATE 2022 Answer Key
IIT Kharagpur shall release GATE answer keys online on the official website. First, the provisional GATE 2022 answer key will be released which shall be subject to objections by candidates who appeared in the exam. After considering the candidate challenges, the final GATE answer key will be released by the authorities. IIT Kharagpur shall prepare GATE 2022 results based on the final answer key.
GATE Response Sheet 2022
IIT Kharagpur shall release candidate response sheets for GATE 2022 online on the official website. The GATE response sheet 2022 will be available a few days after the exam is concluded. Candidates will have to log in using their enrolment ID and password for GATE response sheet download. It allows candidates to know their responses in the examination for each question in GATE exam 2022.
GATE Result 2022
The concerned authorities at IIT Kharagpur shall declare GATE 2022 result online on the official website. Candidates will have to login using their enrolment ID/ email and password to access the GATE result 2022. The qualifying GATE cutoff will be mentioned along with the candidate details and marks scored.
How to check GATE 2022 result?

- To login, enter GATE enrollment ID or email address and password.

GATE Scorecard 2022
IIT Kharagpur shall release GATE 2022 score cards for qualified candidates after declaration of GATE results. The GATE mark sheet will be available online on the official website (GOAPS) portal. Candidates need to enter their enrollment ID and password for GATE scorecard download. GATE 2022 score card will contain details like candidates marks, score, all India rank, qualifying marks, total number of candidates appeared, etc.
- For candidates appearing for Geology and Geophysics (GG) papers, separate score and ranking will be provided based on their selection of sections.
- For candidates appearing for Humanities and Social Sciences (XH) papers, separate score and ranking will be provided based on their selection of sections.
